Pulling from my experiences as a Mixed, Queer/Transgender, Chinese American, Queer Chinese Guardian Lions reimagines the gender roles often associated with the male and female Fu Dog statues.
After a presentation on the brief history of Chinese Guardian Lions, Students and community members participated in a craft activity around the sculptural piece.
Patrons were given collage and drawing supplies to create their own portal that the Guardian Lions would protect.
