Ghoul Kazool (2026) is a year long interactive audio visual, sculptural installation project by Avery Chang. Incorporating tactile material environments, experimental video gaming, projection mapping and robotics, the project reclaimed the fear associated with LGBTQ+ identities by encouraging play through gooey cartoon aesthetics and custom sculptural gaming controllers.
Cyberpunk Machine (2025) is an interactive gachapon machine that dispenses sculptural toys featuring an embedded hologram. Patrons can move sliders and press a glowing arcade button to active the machine’s visuals.
Pulling from their experiences as a Mixed, Queer/Transgender, Chinese American, Queer Chinese Guardian Lions reimagines the gender roles often associated with the male and female Fu Dog statues.
